They plan to add bonuses for finishing or expanding a contract from the Ministry of Defense to increased salaries and benefits in Germany.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius suggested to raise the salary and introduce prizes for volunteers who finished a contract with Bundeswehr. It should help overcome the lack of staff in the army. Bild reported this Friday, July 25th.
The German army must increase the number of 460 thousand soldiers and officers (now – only 182 thousand). However, the process is now blocked, so Pistorius wants to attract service volunteers thanks to higher salaries and bonuses.
According to the minister’s plan, the salaries of soldiers and sailors will grow from 1840 to 2700 euros per month. In addition, military personnel will receive free medical care, food and accommodation in the service area, as well as travel by train.
The slight compensation for the cost of a school driving, language and fitness course is also planned.
They plan to add bonuses for finishing or expanding the contract with good salary and benefits. However, the specific value of the Ministry of Defense has not yet called.
If that is not enough to overcome the lack of personnel, when the “defense-political situation will require an urgent increase in the number of armed forces,” Germany may return to military service.
Remember that the President of the Federal Republic of Germany called for the introduction of a commanded call.
