On July 27, the Dnipro Court of Appeal upheld a lower court’s decision to recover $17.5 million from state-owned PrivatBank in favor of Elena Bogolyubova, the ex-wife of former bank shareholder Gennady Bogolyubov. This was announced in his Telegram by the representative of the bank’s press service Oleg Serga.
The court affirmed the decision of the Dnipro District Court, according to which the funds in the deposits of Ms. Bogolyubova could not be converted into shares in the bank as a result of the legal bail procedure, because the ex-husband was allegedly not related. to his ex-husband at all.
We are talking about the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of the city of Dnipro, which previously partially satisfied Bogolyubova’s claim against PrivatBank and terminated several deposit agreements concluded in 2014-2016, and recovered from PrivatBank in her favor of $15.7 million, 1.8 million euros and 30 .4 million euros.
It is noted that the court’s decisions are already under review in the Cassation Civil Court and Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court on the state bank’s complaints.
PrivatBank will appeal the decision of the Court of Appeal to the Supreme Court and “will vigorously defend its rights and the rights of every Ukrainian to a fair trial and the rule of law.”
Recall that the former co-owner of PrivatBank, Gennady Bogolyubov, filed new charges in the case of nationalization of the bank. He demanded that the nationalization of the bank be cancelled.
