Ukraine and the Russian Federation yesterday, July 23, held the ninth stage of the great exchange of prisoners that they agreed in Istanbul.
Thus, more than 1 thousand defenders of Ukraine were exempted from Russian captivity from Russian captivity. This was reported on the page of the headquarters of the coordination in prisoner of war management (KSPPV).
Among the captives released yesterday – military personnel of the Armed Forces, in particular from the divisions of DSHV, the military fleet, three authorities, as well as fighters of the State Tax Service, the National Guard and the National Police.
Some of them were captured during the defense of Maripul and spent more than three years in captivity. In addition, the last of the defenders of the island of the snake was released from captivity.
In addition to the representatives of the soldier and the sergeant, the officers were released, ”KSPPV notes.
The youngest liberated defender turned 27 years old, the oldest – 66 years old.
In general, Ukrainians who fought on Donetsk, Rumbia, Lugansk, Kherson, Harkiv, Poyam, Chernihiv directions were returned to their native land – added to KSPPV. – The defenders released will undergo the necessary medical examination, receive assistance in physical and psychological rehabilitation, as well as all appropriate payments for the entire time in captivity.
