In the capital and a number of regional centers, people headed to the streets, protesting against the bill adopted today, eliminating the independence of the anti -corruption organs.
On Tuesday, on Tuesday, July 22, in Kyiv, Lviv, Dnieper, Vinnitsa and many other cities of Ukraine, the protests were held against the Cap’s abduction of NABU and freedom. As reported, now Verkhovna Rada has voted in the second reading for Bill No. 12414, limiting the independence of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the expert Anti -Corruption of the prosecutor’s office and relying on the decisions of the persecution general. A number of representatives before the voting tried to hinder Rostrum, explaining that it was “the only option, how the theoretical” the adoption of the bill would prevent it. Nabu and SAP said the bill will destroy the Anti -Corruption Infrastructure, which has been built since 2015.
The head of Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk immediately signed the bill, and sent it to the President.
The European Commission has expressed serious concern by deciding Verkhovna Rada to limit NABU’s independence and SAP.
