In France, the director of Anavim and two men for trading people working in inhuman conditions were condemned.

In the French Department of Shampan, an investigation continues about inhuman conditions in which periods of workers have worked with the harvesting of grapes. Also, under the administration of law enforcement and judicial bodies of France, there was a case of Ukrainian attraction in the same harvest of 2023, who recognized himself in the intense heat and death of four grape collectors. The AFP reported it.

It was noted that the court punished the director of the service company called Anavim in two years in prison and by two years of condition. He denied his responsibility to housing conditions and accused other accused, suspected of recruiting collectors.

The court also punished two men in a year’s imprisonment with conditions of terms.

All three were found guilty of human trafficking, which, according to French law, was defined as “recruitment, transportation, transfer, placement or acceptance of a person for its operation”, through forced employment, abuse of power, abusing a weak position or replacement of payment or benefit.

The director of Anavim was also found guilty of crimes, including hiding employees.

It was reported that the court had removed the company and ordered the wine manufacture cooperative where it worked, to pay a fine of 75,000 euros. The court also obliged the three offenders to pay 4 thousand euros to each victim.

The victim’s attorney (where there are more than 50, these are major illegal migrants from Mali, Mauritania, the Cat-D’ivoir and Senegal) said the court has made a “historical” decision. For his part, the director of the Anavim’s attorney called the decision “unfair” and said the appeal would be filed.

As you know, in September 2023, the labor inspection found that the housing Anavim provided to the grape collectors in the south -western reims were “seriously” their safety, health and dignity. Later, the prefecture was closed housing, pointing to the incorrect bed and the “dreadful state of bathrooms and common areas.”

As one of the victims of Chamber Sika said in court, they treat workers “like slaves.”

People were placed in an abandoned building, without food, without water. Workers are on the farm from 5:00 to 18:00.

Remember that guards on the Border of Ukrain revealed a criminal group who pulled people into bondage in labor under employment. The victims were recruited in two places, after which they were forced to hold in Odessa, forcing them to work free of charge.

It is also reported that according to the Ministry of Internal, within two years more than two hundred Ukrainians have been victims of human trafficking.
