According to Merets, the American government as a whole promise to provide the Patriot Germany and the European Union so that the latter can transfer their defense defense to Ukraine. However, the issue of receiving a replacement remains open: the exact guarantee or deadlines have not been established.
“There is a general commitment from the American government to be given to us, Germany and the European Union, Patriot, so that we can move these systems to Ukraine. We send and accept a replacement. But this replacement is not really given,” he said.
The Chancellor also noted that negotiations with the United States on the system move continued. This topic is actively discussed at the level of defense ministers.
His commentary sounded at a conference in Berlin, where he performed with the Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gar Stree. The star, which supports Germany’s desire to gain certainty in this regard, said that Berlin plays an important role in boosting Ukraine with new air defense systems.
The Norwegian prime minister emphasized that the assistance in Ukraine is not only the issue of compliance with international law and self -law, but also an important factor for maintaining stability in Europe.
