During his meeting today, July 21, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to liquidate the Ministry of Strategic Industry.
The representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk announced this in his telegram.
It was established that the Ministry of Defense is a successor to property, rights and obligations of the Ministry of Strategic Industry. According to him, a commission was created to liquidate the Ministry of Strategic Industry, ”he said.
It is noted that the updated regulation of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine currently provides that the Ministry of Defense is the main body in the system of central executive bodies, which ensures the formation and implementation:
- State policy of national security in the military sphere, defense and military construction in peacetime and in a special period;
- State industrial policy, state military and industrial policy, state policy in the field of defense and industrial complex, in the aviation industry;
- State policy in the field of space activity.
