In the Bakhmut direction, the most active fighting continues at the Uglegorsk and Novolugansk thermal power plants. The last Russian military captured.
Maxim Cherevko, deputy head of the Svetlodar city military administration, told the journalists of Free Radio about this.
We moved away from the village of Novoluganskoye. Where exactly they went, I cannot say. I know that the withdrawal of troops was under heavy pressure, – said Cherevko.
He added that fighting is still going on in this direction.
Constant shelling near Semigorye, Kodema, the whole side is under heavy artillery shelling, and air strikes are also being carried out,” Cherevko said.
The official does not confirm or deny the information that the occupiers seized the Uglegorsk TPP.
However, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in construction on July 25 reported that the Russian army had partial success in the TPP area. Occupational publics distributed a video in which Wagner militants seem to be walking around the territory of the Uglegorsk thermal power plant.
On July 21, British military intelligence reported that the Uglegorsk TPP could become the next target of the invaders. This is the second largest power plant in Ukraine, it is located 50 km northeast of Donetsk in the city of Svetlodarsk.
Russia prioritizes capturing critical national infrastructure such as power plants. However, it may also be trying to break through to the Uglegorsk thermal power plant, gaining momentum in the southern pincers of its offensive on the key cities of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk, British intelligence reported.
