Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, held a meeting with the Minister of Defense Rastima Umarov.
Zelensky announced this, on July 12, in the evening in his Telegram channel.
According to him, several topics were considered during the meeting, in particular, “changes in state institutions.”
Ukraine requires more positive dynamics in relations with the United States, and at the same time new steps are needed to manage the protection of our country. The relevant decisions will be published in the near future, ”Zelensky emphasized.
The meeting also discussed drones.
According to Zelensky, he instructed to conclude a contract with all available volumes of priority types of drones, we work separately with European partners.
This year we must achieve much higher production and drones from troops than planned. We also prepare non -standard steps to support our protection – we expand the geography of this support, ”he added.
Earlier in the media there was information that Umarov could become a new ambassador of Ukraine to the United States. On July 10, Zelensky confirmed the plans to change the ambassador to the United States during the press conference in Rome and suggested that Umarov could become a new ambassador.
Today, the publication “Public” and “European Pravda”, referring to informed sources, said that Zelensky considers Umarov the main and still the only candidate for the position of Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States, and one of the current government officials may become the next Minister of Defense.
Deputy people Alexei Goncharenko also writes in his telegram that Umarov will become a new ambassador in the United States. According to him, Mikhail Fedorov can become the Minister of Defense, also among the candidates – Denis Schmigal.
