Since October 2023, control steps taken by German authorities have operated on the Polish-German border to stop illegal move.
The Minister of Internal Work of Poland Tomash Semonia said the Poland side is ready to eliminate temporary strengthened border control along with Germany, if the latter goes to this step as well. He told reporters on Saturday, July 5, during a border visit with Lithuania, writes RP.Pl.
According to Semonyak, if Germany cancel its improved control over its part, then Poland’s side is “not to see the reason” to continue it.
“Once we lose the reasons for which we are forced to enter temporary checks, we are pleased to cancel them. If Germany cancel its checks, which, I remember, happened since October 2023, we also do not see the reasons for reviewing people entering Germany,” added the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs.
He also admitted that temporary checks about the Poland border not only in Germany, but also in Lithuania, could continue after 30 days of rest.
“The reason for this decision is the general problem facing Lithuania, Poland and the European Union, especially the resistance to illegal movement,” Semonah explained.
Poland law enforcement officials have revealed a international criminal syndicate suspected of migrants in the kidnapping of Poland and Latvia. Four detainees, citizens of Ukraine, will be charged with abduction for the purpose of redemption.
