Vessels leaving the ports of Odessa will enter the Black Sea along the route set by the Ukrainian side, the Turkish president’s press secretary said.
The first ships could pass through the “grain corridor” in the next two weeks. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Turkey, Ibrahim Kalin, in an interview with Bloomberg.
“Ships leaving the ports of Odessa will enter the Black Sea along the route set by the Ukrainian side. After entering Turkish waters, they will continue to be monitored. Upon arrival in Istanbul, the ships will be inspected. The the same procedure will be applied to ships leaving in the direction of Black Sea ports” – said Ibrahim Kalyn.
Additionally, according to Kalyn, the agreements, if successfully implemented, could be a step towards new agreements, such as cease-fires, prisoner exchanges and long-term peace agreements.
“Based on the agreement of both sides, an agreement is made. If these agreements can be maintained, and if they are supported by other countries, an environment of trust will be created that will pave the way for new agreements, for example , in a ceasefire, the exchange of prisoners and long-term peace agreement – said the press secretary of the President.
Earlier, the Navy announced the continuation of the ports.
