Prime Minister Robert Golob, whose independence of the movement voted against a referendum, announced the start of voting “to be a member of Slovenia in NATO.”
Slovenia’s Parliament supported the left party’s proposal to hold an advisory referendum to increase defense costs. This was announced the day before the local edition of Delo.SI.
It is indicated that the referendum proposal was supported by two of the three parties of the Slovenian Coalition-left and Social Democrats, as well as two smaller opposition parties. In total, they issued 46 votes “for”, despite the fact that parliament had 90 representatives.
Plan to make the following words in the referendum: “Do you support Slovenia’s increase for defense to 3% of GDP per year, approximately 2.1 billion euros, until 2030?”
It is currently unaware of exactly when the vote will take place. Parliament should adopt a separate decision on its implementation. In any case, the results of the advisory referendum are not mandatory.
Prime Minister Robert Golob, whose freedom of Rukh voted against the coalition’s proposal, after which it announced the start of the referendum “in Slovenia to NATO.”
“There are only two ways: either we stay on the alliance and pay membership fees, or we leave the alliance. Everything else is a misleading population,” Golob said.
Remember, on June 24-25, at the Hague Summit, leaders of NATO countries approved record costs to 5% of GDP defense. Also, in the final declaration, Russia is called a long -term serious threat to Euro -Andlantic security.
