The air raid coincided with explosions carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine during military exercises, causing panic among local residents.
In Korosten, Zhytomyr region, on Wednesday morning, July 27, explosions were heard during an air raid. However, as it turned out, the reason was a military exercise, not an enemy attack. It was reported by the local authorities.
In parallel, in neighboring Belarus, enemy aircraft were reported to have flown.
Korosten RVA head Yuriy Tarasyuk confirmed the explosions in the regional center to reporters. However, the district military administration later named their reason.
“So far, false information about the explosions in the city of Korosten has spread. The explosions were heard, but it was not an enemy attack, but a military exercise, which coincided with an air raid,” said report.
Residents are also asked not to panic or spread rumours.
Earlier, residents of the Poltava region were warned about shooting during the exercise and urged to remain calm.
