Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova, said the Azerbaijan ambassador to Moscow Rahman Mustafaeva was called to the department because of Baku’s actions to prevent Russian journalists. This was informed by Rossmi on Monday, June 30.
“In connection with Baku’s unfriendly actions and the illegal restraint of Russian journalists, in which the Azerbaijan authorities did not have any complaints in the foreign ministry, the ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan was called to the Foreign Ministry,” Zakharova told reporters.
He also noted that in Moscow “remembers the situation around the citizens of the Russian Federation who was confined to Baku.”
“We remember that for more than two hours, Russia’s diplomats in Baku could not contact journalists -Russian citizens,” the Russian Foreign Ministry representative added.
According to him, “Employees of the Russian Embassy Consular Department are not allowed to journalists.” In addition, “information about factors for such actions is not provided.”
“We remember about our journalists. The Russian embassy informs the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the SGB of Azerbaijan -no answer,” Zakharova said.
