The Minister of Foreign Affairs Slovaks Yura Blanar expressed the opinion that the West should establish communication with the Russian side and, possibly, even “forgive Russia” everything. The diplomat emphasized that the event itself should find a way to cooperate with Moscow. He stated this in the air of STVR.
Perhaps it is even worth forgiving everything that happened, ”he said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga has already responded to this proposal. On the social network, he wrote that “a sense of impunity is the main cause of Russia’s crimes.”
It is naive to believe that the offender will stop if he is forgiven and not punished. Russia will amaze the second cheek. And those who have not lost anyone in this war have no right to make such statements, ”the minister wrote.
We recall that on June 23, Hungary and Slovakia blocked a new package of sanctions against Russia. The package proposed by the European Commission is provided for by new restrictions for the energy sector of the Russian Federation, banks and defense industry.
