The United States abolished sanctions related to the construction of the PakSh-2 nuclear power plant in Hungary.
Previously imposed sanctions aimed at undermining the long -term safe energy supply of the country by imposing restrictions on the construction of a nuclear power plant. The production of large equipment required for nuclear power plants continues in the Russian Federation and France. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siarto reported this on social networks.
These politically motivated measures were implemented by the Biden administration shortly before Donald Trump joined the message, the report said.
It is known that in December 2014, the Russian Federation and Hungary signed documents for the construction of the fifth and sixth blocks launched in the 1980s in the framework of Paksha APP as part of the Paksh-2 project. In the construction of the second stage of the nuclear power plant, it is participated in a rosate, and the calculations between the Russian Federation and Hungary were made through Gazprombank, which was under sanctions in November 2024.
We recall that on June 23, Hungary and Slovakia blocked a new package of sanctions against Russia. The package proposed by the European Commission is provided for by new restrictions for the energy sector of the Russian Federation, banks and defense industry.
