Some of the missing funds are So -called Co -Financing and returns from the European Foundation of the World, explained in Berlin.
In the German defense budget for 2025, nearly 1 billion euros previously promised in Ukraine was unexpectedly read. Bild reported this on Saturday, June 28th.
It was noted that defense minister Boris Pistorius in June assured that the help of next year’s KYIV would be 9.2 billion euros. However, the official draft budget dated June 24 indicates the amount of 900 million less – 8.3 billion.
“On June 18, the Ministry of Defense was publicly divided into two parts: 7.3 billion approved, 1.9 billion was added.
The representative of the German Ministry of Defense, in a publication communication, explained the difference by the fact that the part of the money that was not enough was the many co -Financing and return from the European Fund of the World. That is, there will be money, but to this day it is not on the budget.
“As a result, about 9 billion will still come out,” the department believes.
In the Bundestag, such explanations caused a surprise. Representative from “green” Sebastian Schaefer said “unclear from the draft budget from which the ministry captures the declared value.”
“Ukraine does not require promises, but real support,” Schefer emphasized.
It is noteworthy that in May it is known that Ukraine will receive additional military assistance from Germany for 5 billion euros. The associated documents were signed by Pistorius and Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umarov.
Earlier, the German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz said Ukrainian production systems were funded.
