The next stage of a major exchange of concluded in accordance with Istanbul agreements took place today, June 26.
This was reported in the Telegram channel of coordination personnel for prisoner of war management (KSPPV).
A group of defenders, under 25 years old, as well as defenders who received injuries and health problems, was returned to their homeland, the report said.
It is noted that during today’s exchange for their native land, military personnel of the Armed Forces, including representatives of the Military Fleet, the land forces, DSHV, forces, as well as fighters of the National Guard and the State Border Service, were returned.
The vast majority of the defenders of Ukraine today have been held captive for more than three years:
- Many of them were captured during the defense of Maripul;
- It was also possible to release the National Guard guarded by the Chernobyl APP.
The specifics of today’s exchange – managed to return home to young soldiers. The youngest defender is 24 years old, and he was captured during the defense of Maripol in April 2022, at the age of 21, in CSPPV.
The oldest defender of Ukraine, who managed to return to his homeland, is 62 years old.
There are officers among the liberated today.
In general, Ukrainians who defended the country in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lugansk, Kherson, Kyiv and Pokh, return home, ”said KSPPV.
It is noted that the necessary medical examination will be published from captivity, will receive assistance in physical and psychological rehabilitation, as well as all appropriate payments for the entire time in captivity.
KSPPP added that in the near future the next stage of the release of prisoners of Ukrainians will be held.
