President Volodymyr Zelensky met with French President Emmanuel Macron.
During a meeting at the NATO summit, the fields were discussed, in particular, coordinating further security steps. Leaders talked about the possibility of strengthening the Ukrainian air defense due to additional French fighters of the Mirage, as well as to start joint production of drones. Zelensky reported this in Telegram.
We do everything with France to better protect the Ukrainian sky. In the near future, we count on good solutions, ”he wrote.
Zelensky and Macron also discussed the strengthening of the coalition of Ukrainian partners, expectations from the Summit of the North Atlantic Alliance, as well as a new package of sanctions against Russia.
We recall that in early February, Ukraine received from France the “first Miraage 2000 fighters”, which was declared Emmanuel Macron in the summer of 2024 in the summer of 2024.
And in March, Macron took the opportunity to transfer additional Miraz fighters to Ukraine. This option is not excluded, in particular, due to the supply from third countries that use these combat aircraft.
