Applications for the supply of firewood have already been collected from almost all regions of Ukraine. At the same time, a quarter of the demand fell in three regions: Donetsk, Nikolaev and Odessa.

Ukraine needs more than 7 million cubic meters of firewood for the 2022-23 heating season. This was announced in a column in Economic Truth by the head of the State Forest Agency, Yuri Bolohovets.

Yuri Bolohovets noted that this is many times more than required in previous warming periods, as the demand for alternative fuels will increase dramatically due to the destruction of infrastructure.

The head of the State Forest Agency noted that applications for the supply of firewood from almost all regions of Ukraine have been collected. At the same time, a quarter of the demand fell in three regions: Donetsk – more than 700 thousand cubic meters of firewood, Nikolaev – more than 400 thousand cubic meters, Odessa – more than 300 thousand cubic meters.

Recall that in June it was reported that Ukraine was negotiating with the United States on gas supplies for the heating season.

The Cabinet of Ministers announces the most difficult heating season.
