Rwanda and Congo representatives will arrive in Washington on June 23 to sign the documents.
US president Donald Trump announced the conclusion of an agreement between Congo and Rwanda about the war, which lasted more than 30 years. The politician wrote about this in his reality on the social network
“I am glad to be surprised that, with the Secretary of the State of Marco Rubio, I managed to end a wonderful agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Rwanda, which paid a war known for the harsh blood and death, even more than other wars, and which has happened for many decades,” Trump said.
The American leader said Rwanda and Congo representatives will arrive in Washington on June 23 to sign the documents.
“It’s a big day for Africa and, frankly, a big day for the whole world!” Trump emphasized.
The US president added that “he will not accept the Nobel Prize for it”, as, in his opinion, for any other “stop of war.”
“No, I’m not going to accept the world’s Nobel Prize, no matter what I do, including Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Iran, no matter the results, but people know, and that’s all that matters to me!” – says Trump.
Remember that recent Rwanda representatives and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have signed the text of a peace agreement between both countries through their technical delegations.
