“Each evacuation case is considered by specialists individually. Patient preparation usually takes from 3-4 days to 2 weeks, the Ministry of Health provides communication with clinics and international partner,” the report said.
The transportation and treatment of Ukrainian citizens under the medical evacuation program is financed by international organizations, as well as by the countries hosting the Ukrainians.
It is reported that citizens of Ukraine who crossed the border after February 24 seeking asylum from the war and received refugee/temporary protection in these countries are entitled to free medical care on an equal basis with citizens of the respective countries .
If the patient is treated in Ukraine, the treatment costs are financed by the National Health Service of Ukraine within the framework of the Medical Guarantee Program.
In general, thanks to international support and cooperation with partners, more than 1,200 Ukrainians have already been evacuated, the Ministry of Health reports.
