The European commission officially proposed to completely stop the import of gas and oil from the Russian Federation by the end of 2027.
According to the proposed graphics:

New contracts for Russian gas imports will be prohibited from January 1, 2026;

Import in accordance with current short -term contracts should be stopped until June 17, 2026, with the exception of gas supplied with pipelines to countries without access to the sea and covered with long -term contracts, it is allowed to import by the end of 2027;

All imports on long -term contracts will stop by the end of 2027.
Long-term contracts for the use of LNG-confusion customers with the Russian Federation or controlled by Russian companies will also be prohibited from producing power for alternative suppliers and increasing the stability of the market.
This proposal should still support the European parliament and the EU Council.
The European Energy Commissar Dan Yorgensen said that the guardian, that the ban on the import of Russian gas will remain in force, regardless of whether the world is in Ukraine.
He remembered cases of blackmail of the gas of the Russian Federation long before a large invasion of Ukraine.
