On Tuesday, this plan will be approved at a special meeting of EU energy ministers in Brussels.
EU countries have agreed on an emergency plan to reduce gas consumption. The agency reported dpa on the evening of Tuesday, July 26th.
EU member states have agreed on an emergency plan to reduce the bloc’s gas consumption to mitigate the impact of a potential total shutdown of Russian gas supplies.
This plan is expected to be approved today at a special meeting of EU energy ministers in Brussels.
The draft proposes a voluntary target for countries to reduce gas consumption by 15% over the next eight months, which could become legally binding in the event of an emergency.
Remember, on Monday, Russian Gazprom announced that from July 27 it will reduce gas supplies through Nord Stream by 1 to 33 million cubic meters per day. Thus, the gas pipeline will operate at only 20% of the total capacity.
Earlier, the company said it “has questions” about Canadian documents on Siemens’ turbine for the SP-1.
In turn, Siemens Energy sees no connection between the situation with the turbine and the reduction in gas supplies through Nord Stream-1.
