A corresponding project has already been developed. Installation will start in two to three weeks. Safe public transport stops are reinforced concrete bunkers that will be erected next to the stopping pavilions.
In the event of a threat of artillery shelling, it will be possible to hide there and wait out the air raid. There are such shelters in Israel, for example. And they show themselves effective in protecting against projectiles and scattering fragments. I am sure that with the help of such bomb shelters we will be able to save more than one life, – the site of Kharkov city head Igor Terekhov quotes.
The first trial copy has already been put into operation. In Kharkiv, 25 places with the largest concentration of people have been identified, where the first bunker stops will be equipped.
The mayor once again urged Kharkiv residents to observe security measures on the street, since the enemy is precisely shelling public transport stops and infrastructure facilities.
Earlier, Terekhov urged the citizens, if possible, to use the subway. During these few days, the passenger flow in the subway has increased slightly.
