Ukraine and Russia will hold the fourth exchange of prisoners a week, but the exchanges should continue next week.
President Vladimir Zelensky has conducted a conversation with the Minister of Defense Rustema Umarov about the further work of liberating Ukrainian defenders from Russia’s captivity. The head of the state reported this in a video message at night on Saturday, June 14.
“I set specific tasks. We have also discussed in detail the possibility of the following diplomatic steps and what exactly should be provided for the negotiation process,” Zelensky said.
According to the President, exchanges of prisoners with Russia by agreement shall be resumed next week.
“We work to restore all of our other people who are now in Russian captivity. We plan that the exchanges will continue next week, at least there is an agreement,” Zelensky said.
The President has announced hope that Russia will fulfill the part of these human obligations, “and will fulfill the way they agree.”
Remember, on June 14, the fourth exchange of prisoners took place between Ukraine and Russia. The warriors who have been in Russia’s captivity since 2022 have returned, those who are considered to be missing.
The exchange of prisoners, including the injured, according to the formula “all and for all” Ukrainian and Russian representatives have agreed to conduct negotiations in Istanbul on June 2.
Zelensky said Ukraine and Russia will be consistent with the third negotiation of negotiations only after completing a large exchange of prisoners. It is first known that exchanges can be completed on June 20 or 21.
