Trump may stop Putin, but for Russia it should feel penalized pressure, the President said.
Negotiations between US leader Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin have raised many questions. However, Russia still has not intended to end the war. President Vladimir Zelensky said this during a conversation with journalists on June 13.
“I believe that a very hot conversation between these groups (Trump and Putin -Ed.). And I don’t think I can tell President Trump, how to perform a dialogue. He is the president who chose the United States. He can do what he wants. But my position is always, this is their hopeful hopes, but I believe Putin doesn’t want to see the war.
Zelensky explained that Putin was ready for some steps of de-escalation if he was under heavy pressure.
“In a different way, there is no way. And therefore I don’t know what they are talking about on their own. But I’m interested as president, this is Ukraine’s question. I think it’s wrong to talk about Ukraine without Ukraine. To talk about Ukraine and solve some issues without us, I don’t think it’s fair,” said the President.
Remember, Trump recently said he failed in Russia and Ukraine. In his opinion, “it is possible to go” to end the war and stop the fire.
