Clarifications of restrictions against Russia were introduced to stop insinuations from Kremlin propaganda, Vsevolod Chentsov said.
The European Union (EU) introduced targeted sanctions in the refinements of restrictions against Russia to stop the Kremlin’s manipulations. Ambassador of Ukraine to the EU Vsevolod Chentsov announced this on the air of Suspilny on Monday, July 25.
According to him, the EU has made some clarifications regarding the import of Russian agricultural products to third countries. They consist of two points, the diplomat added.
“First, some prohibitions on transactions have been removed, but only in this area. And secondly, some prohibitions have been removed on the use of fixed assets in banks that have already been disconnected from SWIFT or are included in the lists of penalty for use only for these needs,” explained the ambassador. .
Ukraine’s representative to the EU explained that such exceptions were made to stop the Kremlin’s manipulations that the EU and Ukraine were allegedly “fixing” the food crisis on world markets.
Chentsov noted that the general pressure of sanctions on Russia has intensified. In the European Union, there is an “active search for areas” that may comply with the restrictions. In particular, work is underway to expand sanctions against the metallurgical sector of the Russian Federation.
Let’s remember that at the last moment the European Union decided not to include the Russian metallurgical company VSMPO-Avisma in the seventh package of sanctions for the Russian Federation.
It was previously reported that the list of EU sanctions against Russia was expanded by 55 positions – 48 individuals and seven legal entities were included in the list.
