Russian security forces have identified the removal of information from the phone to “hide real political views.”
Foreign citizens who have removed information from their phones before entering Russia face declines at the entrance. About this writes Moscow Times on Monday, June 9.
In one case, the man rejected the entrance, as he removed 5,000 photos and videos, as well as some contacts. In another case, the citizen “cleaned information on the chats”, completely removed the gallery and hid the history of YouTube views and could not enter Russia.
It is noted that the problem has been touched by the citizens of Ukraine. Russian security forces recognized the removal of information from the phone by an attempt to “hide real political views” and “prepare in advance” for the passage of border control.
Journalists identified at least 10 cases when Ukrainians tried to challenge the refusal to enter the court, saying they had citizen relatives in this country in Russia, but all appeals were not satisfied.
After the start of an entire war, Russian authorities restricted the rules of entry for the citizens of Ukraine. Since October 2023, the Ukrainians could have crossed the border only by Moscow Airport Sheremetyevo and the Ludonka Passage on the border with Latvia in the PSKOV region of the Russian Federation.
Restrictions were explained by the need to “ensure security” of the Russians in “political conditions generated.” Latvia almost immediately closed the Ventuli (Ludonka) border so that there were no lines from those who wanted to cross the border. So, today the citizens of Ukraine can only get to Russia through Sheremetyevo. However, for this they need to undergo customary interrogations and reviews.
Remember that from the beginning of 2025, another 100 thousand people left Ukraine. On April 17, 2025, 6.918 million refugees from Ukraine were recorded worldwide.
