The Welt Am Sonntag newspaper gained access to secret documents and found that the EU, obviously, spent tax money on dubious lobbying activities to convince the public in its climatic policy.
Obviously, the EU paid for environmental organizations in a bearer for German enterprises and campaigns. This follows from the secret contracts that Welt Am Sonntag (included in the Axel Springer) was able to consider for the first time.
According to these data, officials and activists of Brussels coordinated their actions with the smallest details, the newspaper reports.
Millions of euros from taxes were probably spent on this operation. What German firms were affected to, the report does not indicate.
For example, the NCO client, according to the visible, received 350,000 euros to attract German coal power plants to trials – to increase “financial and legal risks” for operators.
The European Commission was also hired by the “Friends of the Earth” to combat the free trade agreement between Europe and South America – while the commission officers promoted this Agreement.
Other groups allegedly received money for influence on the members of the European Parliament to the votes of pesticides and chemicals.
These contracts were concluded in 2022, and the money was received in 2023. Separate NCOs received up to 700,000 euros.
It is sad that under the former members of the European Commission Synkevichus and Timmermans, direct subsidies of organizations were released on their programs: radical actions, hidden political lobbying and pressure on those who make decisions – indignant deputy Monica Holmeyer Monica.
She continues:
I was especially impressed by the plans of the explosion that agricultural enterprises and even coal power plants had to be forced to stop their activities from the claims and excessive strengthening of reporting requirements.
According to her, it is worried that “the controllers of the European Commission did not recognize these dubious programs due to the refusal of financing.”
Citizens are impressed by the fact that the commission supports tax money only the thoughts that she likes. This significantly undermines trust in European institutions, ”says VDP and deputy chairman of the European Parliament Sven Khan in Welt Am Sonntag.
The European Commission has not yet commented on the fact and results of the investigation.
