In this group of volunteers there are many candidates joining the Ukrainian Legion rather than the previous ones.
Many dozen citizens of Ukraine living abroad, on Friday, June 6, signed contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Lublin. Ukrinform reported it.
This is the fourth group of volunteers who have signed contracts with the Armed Forces. Among them are the Ukrainians living in Poland, Germany, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Moldova, the Czech Republic.
The representative of the Recruiting Center in Ukrainian second general in Lublin, Peter Gorkush, noted that in this group there were many candidates joining the Ukrainian Legion than the previous ones.
“There are men and women at this party. It is fun that the group has more than 20% of volunteers aged 18 to 24 years,” he said.
According to him, young people, as a rule, want to serve UAV units. At the same time, women seek to become doctors or serve in communication units. People over 40 years of age largely want to be a driver’s mechanics.
After signing the contract, volunteers will go to 45-day military training at Poland’s Lublin Voivodeship.
Remember that the creation of the Ukrainian Legion was known in early July 2024. Volunteers from the Ukrainian Legion may sign a contract a year, three years or until completing a special period.
After signing contracts with Ukraine’s armed forces, they were sent to one of the training grounds near Lublin to undergo training. Education is taught by educators from NATO countries. Thereafter, military personnel who need separate training in the selected expert may undergo further training in other areas.
The Ukrainian side provides legion volunteers with military and drug form, and Polish provides appropriate infrastructure, equipment and weapons for the training period.
The first group of volunteers from the Ukrainian Legion signed contracts with the Armed Forces in November, the second – in January of this year, the third – at the end of February.
