The two -thirds of Germany people believe that the Israeli military response to the Hamas attack in October 2023 was excessive.
The existing majority of Germans support the idea of restrictions or complete ending of weapons in Israel against the background of humanitarian situations in the Gaza sector. This has been proven by the results of a survey representative conducted by the Institute of Public Opinion Infratest Dimap for the ARD Channel.
The survey was attended by 1292 voters in Germany. Of these, 43% spoke for the restriction of exporting weapons to Israel, 30% would like to complete export stops.
At the same time, 17% of German respondents wanted to export Israeli weapons to continue unchanged.
According to the Infratest Dimap, nearly two -thirds (63%) of German respondents believe that the Israeli military response to the Hamas terrorist attack in October 2023 was extreme.
Only 18% will consider the actions of the Israeli army sufficient.
Nearly three quarter of respondents (73%) are considered that it is unfair that Israeli’s military operation against Hamas also affects the Palestinian civilian population.
In recent days, representatives of the German government further critically spoken about Israeli’s actions in the Gaza sector.
Remember that Israel is ready to fulfill a ceasefire and exchanging hostages with the Hamas militant, suggested by the special beam of US President Steve Witkoff.
