About 50 people were on board, no one was injured, they were able to leave the ship. The captain was driving the boat under the influence of alcohol.
In Croatian Split, a tourist boat with fifty people on board could not make it to the pier and sank. This was reported by the Balkan Observer.
The incident happened around 2:35 am with the 21-meter tourist boat Morska vila. About 50 people were on board, no one was injured, they were able to leave the ship.
Unofficially, it was found that the 44-year-old captain was driving the boat under the influence of alcohol: more than one ppm was found in his blood. The other three crew members who passed the breathalyzer were sober.
Previously, the captain was jailed on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, thus committing a criminal offense – endangering traffic.
He is currently under criminal investigation by the Split police.
In the investigation, it will be known if there was something other than alcohol and the wrong behavior of the captain that led to the flooding of the boat.
Recall that in mid-July, a large forest fire broke out in southern Croatia near the city of Sibenik on the Adriatic coast.
