The United States hopes that the country will “not provide asylum to terrorist organizations and ensure the safety of religious and ethnic minorities.”
The United States has released a license that allows financial transactions to Syria previously blocked by Washington. On Friday, May 23, the American Ministry of Finance said. The corresponding application has been published on the department’s website.
“Except for the cases provided for paragraph © of this general license, all transactions prohibited by regulation of Syrian penalties, except for transactions involving blocked people, allowed,” the license said.
In particular, the general license does not grant permission to the participation transactions of any person or organization specified in the list of citizens of special categories and blocked people of control of foreign ownership (OFAC) if they are not indicated in the appendix here.
The penalties were removed from Syrian Arab Airlines, many banks, including the Central Bank, and shipping companies. Transactions are also allowed in Syrian Oil Company Syrol and other energy sector organizations.
The restrictions were removed by the new Syrian government head Ahmed al-Sharaa (Abu Muhammad al-Julani) and interior minister Anas Khattabu.
In addition, the United States raised the penalties of Latakia and Tartus control ports of companies from the Syrian Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources, the Four Seasons Ministry of Tourism and Hotel in Damasco.
“Permission aims to assist in restoring the economy, Syrian financial and infrastructure sector in accordance with the interest of US foreign policy,” the statement.
Remember that US president Donald Trump said he plans to cancel sanctions against Syria after the Bashar al -assad regime has dropped. On May 14, Trump met with the President of Syria for the time of Ahmed Al-Sharaa’s move.
