The seven countries of the group approved a joint statement, which, in particular, emphasized that frozen Russian assets would remain immobilized until Russia stops its aggression and pay for the damage caused to Ukraine.
In a document approved by the Ministers of Finance and the head of the central banks of the G7 at the meeting on May 20-22 in the Canadian Banf, he also condemns the Russian Federation, supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and welcomes current efforts to create a ceasefire.
As indicated in the application, if the ceasefire is not reached, the country G7 will consider all “possible options, including options for maximizing sanctions pressure”.
Donald Trump will visit the G7 summit in Canada in June. This will be the first visit of the US President to a country that he wants to turn into the “51st state of the United States”.
