The head of the Luhansk OVA said that if Western weapons had arrived earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine could have retaken Severodonetsk.
The head of the Lugansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai, said that the occupation of the Lugansk region by Russian troops could have been avoided if Ukraine had received Western weapons a week or two earlier. He said this in an interview with UNIAN.
“If the weapons had arrived earlier, then, in principle, we could have recaptured even Severodonetsk. The problem is that the Russians have a large amount of Soviet artillery. Yes, Russia is all rusty, old and pretentious. But 10 old tanks are still 10 tanks on the battlefield. They have a lot of people and equipment. They have a whole city “full” of shells for artillery,” said Gaidai.
According to the head of the Luhansk OVA, the invaders had a tactic of simply shelling the Ukrainian positions, and then entered the settlements on foot.
“When our guys repelled the attack, then again 3-4 hours of shelling. Moreover, it does not matter what time of day it is. Sometimes shelling does not stop at all during the day,” Gaidai said.
Recall that the situation in the Lugansk region is difficult, but controlled, the fighting is happening in the areas of Belogorivka and Verkhnekamenka.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian military repelled the enemy attack from the Lisichansk oil refinery.
