Italy is preparing a new military aid package in Ukraine.
The Minister of Defense of Italy Gvido Crosetto introduced the Committee on State Security on the 11th package of military assistance, which Rome plans to transfer to Kyiv. It should include 400 M113 armored caterpillars and satellite surveillance systems necessary for planning reconnaissance operations. This was announced by Il Juorney.
It is noted that these BTP have been used by the Italian army since the 1970s, but these cars are still working with a number of countries. Since the beginning of a full war, the Ukrainian defense forces have received hundreds of such armored vehicles and more modern M113 modifications.
The Ukrainian military, according to Ir Jornale, says that these caterpillars have established themselves as “reliable resources” for the army. Light armor, compactness, maneuverability and antitoneal networks allow the M113 to effectively transport troops to certain areas and evacuate the wounded from the battlefield.
We recall that the interim lawyer for Poland in Ukraine Petro Lukashevich said that the Polish government plans to move to Ukraine over the next months for the 47th military assistance package for 200 million euros.
