Such a meeting may affect bilateral relations between Russia and the USA, as well as the situation in Ukraine, Dmitry Peskov said.
The meeting of the leaders of the United States and Russia was “necessary” to discuss the international situation and the war in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a commentary to Russian propagandists on Friday, May 16.
“The meeting at the highest level should be carefully prepared and effective, as it is always preceded by experts, consultations and long -term preparations,” he said.
According to Peskov, such a meeting should affect bilateral relations between Russia and the USA and required for a “serious conversation” about Ukraine.
“That is how we see this situation. At the same time, such a meeting is certainly necessary -both from the point of view of the bilateral Russian -merican relationship, and for a serious communication at the highest level in international and regional issues, including the crisis around Ukraine,” said the Kremlin Press Secretary.
He also believes it is necessary to start a discussion of strategic stability in Europe soon. At the same time, he noted that it is now difficult to discuss the restoration of the cooperation of the Russian Federation with NATO.
“Talk about restoring partnership with NATO at a time when the alliance is really fighting in Russia is difficult,” Peskov said.
Remember that US president Donald Trump will meet with Russian Federation head Vladimir Putin once it is possible to arrange a meeting. He said this at a business-round table in Abu Dhabi.
And on the eve of Trump expressed the opinion that the peaceful regulating of the Russian War against Ukraine would not take place without Putin.
In this regard, State Secretary Marco Rubio supported Trump’s opinion, expressing doubt about Ukraine negotiations and the Russian Federation in Istanbul.
