The Ukraine leader believes that the Russian leader aims to avoid penalties in the US, so he decided to talk about direct negotiations that he did not go to.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin spends time offering American penalties. This was said by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky at a meeting in Ankara on Thursday, May 15.
“I didn’t take any proposals to Putin. We all found out that he was offering direct negotiations. Why did he offer direct negotiations? Because he didn’t want a stop,” said the head of the state.
According to the President, the Kremlin head will no longer need a meeting, enough to stop the fire. And the “attempts” are at Easter, and nothing has led to them, as Zelensky emphasizes.
At the same time, Ukraine supported Putin’s proposal for direct communication, including at the request of the partners, who showed the willingness to take steps towards stopping and achieving the world.
According to Zelensky, the so -called “readiness” Putin for negotiations aims to postpone sanctions in the US.
“He wanted to show that he was” developing “and” ready “for negotiations, but many questions. So they took everything. So I said I was ready, Trump said we were ready. We didn’t coordinate (our actions – Ed.),” Zelensky said.
The President noted that Ukrainian and American teams are in contact.
“Trump said he was willing to join. So he signaled that if there were leaders, the President of Ukraine, the President of Russia would be, then the president of the United States of America would join. The normal political mood. He shows that he is ready, wants to help. So I see it,” Zelensky said.
Remember that Zelensky decided to send a delegation to Istanbul, where Russian representatives were located. According to him, the level of the Russian delegation indicates that it is not ready for the cessation of the war, so it is necessary to strengthen the pressure on the Russian Federation.
