The President appointed the Deputy Chairman of the Medzhlis of the Crimean Tatar People Nariman dzhelyalov ambassador of Ukraine in Turkey.
The Deputy Chairman of Medzhlis of Crimean Tatar People, Nariman Jelly (Jellyov), released from Russian Captivity, has become Ukraine’s new ambassador to Turkey. The corresponding command of May 14 was published on the State head website.
“To appoint dzhelyalov Nariman Enverovich extraordinary and plenottentiary of Ukraine in the Turkish Republic,” the document said.
Nariman Jellal is a politician of the Crimean Tatar, journalist and human rights activist. Born on April 27, 1980 in the city of Navoi, Uzbekistan. In 1989, he returned to Crimea with his family.
Jallal graduated from Odessa National University with a degree in politicalology. He worked as an Avded journalist, leading the ATR Television Channel, taught history and law at Simferopol International School.
In 2013, he became the first deputy chairman of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar People.

After the conquest of Crimea, Russia in 2014 remained on the Peninsula, where he actively defended the rights of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians, recorded human rights violations, and attended court hearings for political cases.
In September 2021, after participating in the Crimean Platform Summit, he was confined to Russian security forces on sabotage charges. In 2022, he was punished for 17 years in prison to a maximum security colony.
