A strong earthquake occurred in the area south of Crete Island late on the night of May 13. This was reported by the observers.
According to the European-mediterranean seismological center, the size of the shocks is 6.1, and the center of the center is at a depth of 71 km.
Nearly 3,000 people felt strong underground shocks, both of which were moderate, and over 684000 – vulnerable to change.
Greek -emergency services issued a warning about possible tsunami. Local residents were warned through warning systems and it was strongly recommended to avoid coast and beach zones.

Despite the extensive earthquake zone, there are no reports of severe destruction or victims.
