French president Emmanuel Macron is ready to start a “discussion” according to the European nuclear deterrence provided by France.
French President Emmanuel Macron said he was willing to discuss with European allies the placement of French nuclear weapons in their countries. On Tuesday, May 13, he said in an interview with TF1.
“We are ready to start a discussion, especially about the deployment of aircraft armed with nuclear bombs in other European countries,” Emmanuel Macron explained.
The politician said the official framework of these negotiations will be determined in the coming weeks and months, but he can now call three key conditions for the spread of nuclear protection to European allies:
-
France will not pay for the safety of other countries;
-
Any deployment of nuclear weapons should not deplete the ability to self -self -—defense;
-
All decisions on the use of this weapon will be made exclusively by the President of France.
