European partners of Ukraine, especially the countries of the Coalition of Decisive, will discuss with the American side of the tightening of sanctions against Russia.
Penalties introduced due to Russian military aggression (including due to Crimea conquest) are disturbing the country’s economic potential aggressive economy and, ultimately, stopped warfare. Thus, according to the results of the Solpen Coalition Summit, Polish prime minister Donald Tusk said.
The Poland leader emphasized that “this is an important argument and a way of resistance to Russian invasion.”
“Although Ukraine can defend itself thanks to the heroism of its warriors, the situation will be worse without such penalties. That is why the penalties are considered by our partners as one of the major factors of the action of the aggression. They work. They have made it impossible for Russia to win this war,” Tusk said.
According to him, it was the penalties that became the main factor in “restrictions on Russia’s capabilities”, and “the situation is more difficult than Putin and the Kremlin propaganda show.”
That is why, as mentioned by Poland’s Prime Minister, who is now European partners of Ukraine, especially the countries of the Coalition of Decisive, are discussing on the American side the tightening of sanctions against Russia.
“The readiness of strengthening penalties is the general and position of all countries of the” decisive coalition “, the USA and everything present. I have never seen a clear position in this regard for a long time,” he said.
Tusk noted that for Europe, “these are difficult decisions,” because “penalties are worth all of us.”
“If Russia is pointless to react to the proposals of a Truce, it will find a wave of new penalties,” warned Poland’s Prime Minister.
Remember, on May 10, French president Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister of Britain Kir Starkmer, Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk, as well as German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz in Kiev on May 10, at Kyiv.
According to the results of the negotiations, the leaders of the Coalition of Decisive, along with US president Donald Trump, appointed Russia’s deadline for ceasefire – May 12. If Moscow refused this proposal, a pack of strict penalties would be applied against it.
