The British Ministry of Defense published a video about the Raven military -air defense, which was transferred to Ukraine at the end of 2022.
In the video, Colonel Ollie Todd talked about how to create this original air defense system, which passed from this idea to two full -performance systems in the hands of Ukrainians in just three months.
The raven belongs to the category of Frankens – air defense systems, which are based on the adaptation of existing aircraft missiles for launching with initial land attitudes.
He uses the outdated Air-Air ASRAAM missiles, which were redeveloped for cars with high mobile cars to protect Ukrainian cities and critically important infrastructure from cruise missiles and perciccates.
It is noted that a group of developers worked in strict operational security at the end of 2022, successfully checking the system off the coast of South Wales.
By the beginning of 2023, eight raven systems were transferred to Ukraine along with almost 150 missiles. In total, more than 400 missiles were delivered by this time. According to Todd, the success of the murder of goals exceeds 70%.
The colonel noted that in 2022 the process of developing the concept of the system to transmit it took only three months.
The raven consists of two ASRAM launches, which are installed on the Supacat HMT 600 truck. The system can work from the inside and remotely up to 50 m.
