The aggressor country increased the production speed of cruise missiles.
Currently, the “defense” of the Russian Federation produces ammunition “at an extraordinary speed”-more than 1 thousand 400 Iskander ballistic missiles per year, as well as 500 X-101 cruise missiles per year. The economist announced this with reference to the assessment of Ukraine and the report of the Royal Joint Institute for Defense Research.
It is noted that the situation in other sectors of the Russian defense-industrial complex is not the best, because the current rate of production is unstable. Russians can make 1 thousand 500 – 2 thousand tanks and 3 thousand armored vehicles during the year. However, only 10-15% of this technique are new. The rest is restored equipment from old Soviet reserves. And these resources can be exhausted by 2026 if the current indicators of the losses of the Russian army at the front are preserved.
These figures of the media are provided in the context of assessing the possible Russian attack on NATO countries. The economist writes that until the war in Ukraine continues, the country of the aggressor will not have free ground forces to pose a serious threat to the North Atlantic Alliance.
But even if the ceasefire agreement is signed, it will be difficult for Russia to distract a large number of troops, since it can allow Ukraine to restore its territory, analysts say.
Recall that in April, the Minister of Strategic Industry German Smetanin said that in 2024 the Ukrainian defense increased the production of cruise missiles by eight times compared to 2023. And if Ukraine could only produce Neptune missiles, last year, “many new products that provided an increase in production by eight times compared to 2023.”
