In the first three months of this year, Allies promised to provide another 20 billion euros of security assistance.
NATO countries will continue to support Ukraine, assisting the senior representative and head of the NATO Representative Office in Ukraine Patrick Turner. He said this in a speech at the 17th Kiev Forum security.
Turner noted that in the first three months of this year, the Allies have promised to provide another 20 billion sales of security assistance.
“And soon we will hear new promises and further provision of help. Big -Scale help and support will be needed in the coming years. And we have a strong basis for confidence that this help will be provided,” he said.
And he recalled that last year NATO gave Ukraine more than 50 billion euros – about what Ukraine spent on its own security.
According to Turner, the support is perfectly in line with the interests of both Ukraine and the members of the Alliance country.
“NATO clearly supports Ukraine and is still maintained in all the following years. And the relationship between NATO and Ukraine is stronger now than before. We want to work together so that our relationships can be stronger. Now Ukraine is closer to NATO than ever,” he said.
Among NATO’s major priorities – including the future of the Hague Summit – there are issues of defense costs, the development of the defense industry and support for Ukraine.
Earlier it was learned that NATO was engaged in responsibility for coordination of military assistance in Ukraine, previously conducted by the United States.
