Law enforcement officers in the Odessa region exposed another illegal scheme for sending men of military age abroad. Its organizer is a Russian citizen, the State Bureau of Investigation reported on Thursday, July 21.
It is indicated that three residents of the Odessa region were involved in the scheme. They are looking for men who want to avoid mobilization and go abroad.
The scammers produced a certificate from the military medical commission about unfitness for military service, which allowed them to leave Ukraine without hindrance. For the “document” asked 12 thousand dollars.
In this fact, a criminal investigation was launched under the article on bribery of an official (part 3 of article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The penalties of the article provide a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
Information about the involvement in the illegal scheme of employees of the military registration and enlistment office is also being analyzed.
