Following the temporary stop of military assistance in Ukraine continued from the office of the head of the Pentagon Pentagon, the White House was no longer noted about it.
In early February, the Donald Trump administration stopped 11 flights with military assistance for Ukraine for many days – without the President’s order and no coordination with the leading U.S. leadership. This is stated in the Reuters Investigation, which refers to the US Transport Command (Transcom) documents and resources in the White House, Pentagon and State Department.
According to journalists, the command to stop delivery arrives orally from the Pygset Defense Minister’s office. This happened after January 30, when a closed US policy meeting against Ukraine took place in the White House. Donald Trump at this meeting did not give orders to stop military assistance.
The stop caused a panic among Ukrainian and Polish officials, as 11 shipment flights with shells and other weapons should fly from the base to Delaware (USA) and the UAE. In Washington, they also can’t explain why Transcom suddenly frozes – top officials are unaware.
The White House told Reuters that Hegset allegedly acted based on Trump’s general order to temporarily change Ukraine’s assistance policy. However, this contradicts the testimonies of the participants of the meeting, claiming that the President did not provide such instructions, while other high -level officials have learned about the decision of the post -Facts only.
In fact, delivery was resumed on February 5. According to documents identified by Reuters, the cancellation of flights would cost transcom $ 2.2 million. In March, the administration officially announced a pause of new delivery – it was about the assistance approved by President Bayden.
The Reuters insists that the hegset decision is the result of the internal struggle with the Pentagon, where part of the minister’s advisors contradict Ukraine’s support. Many of them have not yet worked on government structures and supporters of the separation policy, promoted by Vice President Jay Di Wans.
Ukrainian officials who requested clarifications through diplomatic channels received the answer: they said stopping was associated with “internal political processes.”
Remember, on March 4, the media, citing unnamed officials from the White House and Pentagon, reported that Trump had ordered to stop all military assistance in Ukraine while its leaders “showed a sincere promise to the world.” This information was later confirmed.
On the same day, Zelensky published a post on Social Network X, where he expressed his readiness for peace negotiations and suggested the early stages of a Truce. Trump said he appreciated such a statement.
Subsequently, Trump reported that the possibility of continuing assistance in Ukraine would be considered if peace negotiations were arranged and steps were being taken to strengthen trust.
