The Warsaw document will provide an agreement similar to the fact that they have combined France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
France and Poland will sign a new comprehensive bilateral agreement. It covers issues of defense, energy and economy against the back of threats from the Russian Federation and changes in US policy. This has been reported by the Financial Times.
The PACT will be signed by France President Emmanuel Macron and Polish prime minister Donald Tupeskoy on May 9, if Europe celebrates the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The defense has emerged after Tusk recently suggested that Poland be open to study ways to occupy France, with nuclear weapons. Tusk is also talking about Poland’s development of his own nuclear warheads to prevent Russia.
For decades, France said the “essential interest” that refers to the use of atomic weapons has a “European dimension”. The French official said Macron and Tusk were not likely to come to any conclusions with nuclear deterrence when they met for PACT signing.
The document covers a wide range of topics and will provide Poland with an agreement similar to the fact that they have combined France, Germany, Italy and Spain. France also has a narrower defense -focused agreement, along with other countries, such as the Lancaster House Agreement in Great Britain.
France also aims to more actively participate in Poland’s energy transfer – a country that mainly depends on coal. Against the rapid growth of Polish defense costs (4.7% of GDP in 2025), Paris plans to increase the sale of its military equipment – in particular helicopters, submarines and aircraft – despite competition from the United States and South Korea.
France and Poland modernized a bilateral agreement that ended in 1991, after a while Poland released himself from the Communist regime and a few years before it entered NATO, and then to the EU.
As we wrote earlier, the “group of five” – Germany, France, Britain, Italy and Poland – confirmed unchanged political and military support of our country.
A supply of food and weapons. Europe is preparing for war
