Another tranche of aid from the European Peace Fund will allow the EU to support the Ukrainian army with weapons.
EU countries have agreed on the fifth tranche in the amount of 500 million euros of military aid to Ukraine. This was announced on Wednesday, July 20, by the head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell in Twitter.
According to Borrell, a new military aid package was agreed upon within the framework of the meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine.
“The EU member states have agreed to mobilize another tranche of military aid to further support the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” he wrote.
The diplomat also assured additional support for Kyiv by Europe.
“The EU remains committed and unwavering in its support for Ukraine, together with partners,” he added.
Remember, last week it was reported that the EU was discussing the possibility of giving Ukraine a fifth tranche of military aid in the amount of 500 million euros.
It has also been reported that the EU tightly controls the supply of arms to Ukraine. At the same time, the Europeans financed the supply of weapons based on the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Council is scheduled for September 5.
